All three of us were a bit worried about the weather when we scheduled the shoot but we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best!  We sure did luck out! Summer weather in the middle of March.. No one was complaining about that!

I am ridiculously behind on blog posts but now with a little time off from school I am slowly trying to catch up! This shoot was a lot of fun and we really lucked out with the weather. It was a beautiful fall day in Russell, PA. Another awesome part of the shoot was Toby and Courtney’s St. Bernard! He was adorable and so well behaved.

I was a little nervous when I woke up on the day of this shoot and the forecast said high of 50 and rain.. but the shoot ended up being a success and the rain gave the photos a unique spin. I think the umbrella shots turned out awesome and I was loving the diffuse light that the rainy day clouds provided. Rodney and Emily did an awesome job going with the flow and embracing the moment, even if it wasn’t exactly the ideal day for a photo shoot!   Congrats Rodney & Emily!

Wooahhh… I recently started grad school at IUP and I’ve quickly realized what a challenge it is to be a graduate student and a wedding photographer!   I’ve been getting behind on the blog but more posts will be coming soon.   Enjoy these lovely photos of Tanya and Steve. Such a sweet couple!!

We have had some beautiful weather here in North West Pennsylvania and last Saturday was no exception. I traveled to Meadville, PA for the wedding of Amanda and Mike. It was a lovely day with lots of sunshine. It’s the kind of weather you would hope for on your wedding day. I’m sure Amanda and Mike were really hoping for this weather because they had planned their reception to be outside in their families’ yard. The yard was surrounded by homes of family members and beautiful country side, it was amazing!  I loved the earthy feel of the decorations at the reception. They were perfect for the location. Stumps of wood, mason jars, colorful stones, wild flowers, and candles were all used thoughtfully to create wonderful centerpieces. I LOVED their cake! I think I took one thousand pictures if it alone. There was so much detail on every petal of every flower. The personal touches of the wedding really made it a special day for everyone there.   Congratulations to Amanda and Mike!!

I loved Amanda’s bouquet of pink daisies!The flower girls were such adorable sisters.

Everything about a Jenelle and Zane’s wedding reflected their personalities. The day was filled with beautiful handmade details and personalized touches that may have gone unnoticed unless you were looking for them. J+Z was carved into the wood that the cake was sitting on, a pin from Jenelle’s grandmother was hiding beneath the flowers of her bouquet, and blue sparkling letters spelled out “I do” on the bottom her shoes.  Their wedding was lovely and their reception was beautifully decorated. Candles and mason jars filled the White Swan Ballroom, giving it such a warm country feel. One of my favorite parts was little jars of honey they had sitting out for all of their guests to take home.  The label had a quote from Winnie the Pooh:

Piglet- “How do you spell love?”

Pooh- “You don’t spell it, you feel it.”

People always tell me how much they love the pictures of the blue eyed kids. I always laugh and tell them how lucky I am to have such adorable little cousins. I have done portrait sessions with them every summer for the last few years. In college, I used one of their pictures for a portrait assignment. When my photography professor saw the photo he said it was good but he thought I made their eyes too blue with Photoshop. I quickly told him that I hadn’t touched their eyes at all and they were actually that blue. I know it’s hard to believe but their eyes are actually as blue as they appear in these pictures! Enjoy!
